At Millin’s, we take pride in our creativity and passion for the art of butchery so we regularly challenge ourselves by entering competitions run by organisations throughout the meat and food industries.
In October 2018, we added to our collection of awards by placing 1st in NSW for our Balgowlah Beef Burger at the Australian Meat Industry Council Sausage King Awards, along with gaining 3 other 1st placings for our sausages in the Northern Beaches division.
The National Sausage King Awards night was held in Perth in February where we picked up first place in the country in the Best Butcher’s Beef Burger category.
The Sydney Royal Fine Food Show is the most prestigious and highly regarded deli meat competition in the country. Run annually, with results announced around September, Millin’s has consistently placed exceptionally well in categories across the board.
One of the highlights of our earlier entries has been winning our category’s highest award in 2012, the Champion Gourmet Sausage medal for our hand made Moroccan Lamb and Raisin sausages.
The Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) runs the annual industry-recognised Sausage King competition, at which we’ve also solidly placed over the last few years.
The team at Millin’s are most proud of the successes we’ve had with our traditional Beef and Pork recipes – tough categories with tough competition as they’re family staples and considered the benchmark of any good butcher shop.
Though we’ve moved on from some of the winning varieties and don’t sell them anymore, rest assured we’re constantly developing new taste favourites! We’ve listed our various winners below to whet your appetite for your next BBQ.
